Since I'm going to be getting married sometime in the very near future, I need to get in shape. I'm going to use this journal as a log so that I can really keep track of what I eat and what I do. Now if I could only find someone with a scale so I know what my starting weight is...

Day 1 (1/9/08)

Work Out:
- Skated 45 minutes
- 8 minute abs

Food:
Breakfast: Yogurt
Snack: Scrambled eggs w/ cheddar cheese
Lunch: Bean burrito w/ slice of cheese
Snack: Tall, sugar free cinnamon dolce latte
Snack: Cheese stick, peanuts
Dinner: Beef-flavored top ramen

There's no food in my house! And we're both broke!!! UGH! At least there's TONS of cheese sticks! :-)

Figure skaters have to get up entirely way too early. I think I should give the skating up and become a professional video game player. They get to stay up all night and sleep in late.

It's time for the last competition of the season. After this, we get to quit working on programs, focus on technical stuff, and in a couple months, figure out what level everyone is moving up to and start picking out new music and making up new programs. That's my favorite time! lol I am already thinking about what level my students are going to compete next year, although how much they skate over the summer can drastically change my thoughts! :-)

I have 4 students competiting this weekend with a total of 7 events. Today I have 2 events and tomorrow I have 5. Should be a busy, but fun, day tomorrow. I love going to competitions and watching my kids go out there and compete and have a blast. It's hard for me though, because when I competeted I had control over what I did, but when I send my kids out there, I just have to hope they do their best, and I have no control over it. It can be a bit nerve-wracking, especially if they had a bad warm-up. I still love it though. Coaching is the best job in the world. I make a difference in a lot of kids' lives and that means a lot to me.

Feeling guilty because I haven't posted in such a long time. LJ has been pretty boring to me lately. Oh well. School and work have to take precedence anyways. I will be very glad when summer comes and I don''t have to go to school anymore. It's pretty depressing realizing that I should be done with undergrad next year but because of more than one screw up, I've got 3 more years of undergrad to go, putting me two years behind. That really sucks.

Okay, so I'm now on day...6 of this diet. It's going better. Being the blonde who's never been blonde that I am, I forgot to weight myself at the beginning. DOH! I've lost 5 pounds since two days ago though, so I bet I've lost almost or at least 10 pounds. It's getting easier, but I can't wait until a week from Friday when I can start eating some carbs again.

It's the South Beach Diet.

School is almost over for the term and I am so thrilled. Next week is finals and then I am done for 3 glorious weeks. I cannot wait. I get to lay around and be lazy and not have to do anything. Well, except for work. Which will be insane. Winter break is our BUSIEST time of the year. May Gold be with us all, as the line never stops and the skates pile up and the poor skate guards have to dig through the pile to find a pair of skates to fit someone. God help us.

Day 3 of this diet. I already cheated yesterday. It's the South Beach Diet, which is a good one to go on. But I'm such a damn picky eater that half the foods I'm allowed to eat right now, I don't like! Yesterday I ate a roast beef sandwich - not supposed to have carbs, but oh well. But I've told myself that I need to keep going, for my friend who is also on the diet with me, who could really use to lose the weight. I mean, I could too, but I think I've decided that I don't care anymore!

I finally get to see Andy tonight after almost 2 weeks apart. Damn the bad weather. Damn snow and ice. I barely even got to see any snow! He just had it all - no fair!
